Md Ajwad Akil
I am a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science in Purdue University. I Started my PhD journey in Fall 2023.
Currently I am working under
supervision of Professor Elisa Bertino.
Prior to this, I received my Bachelors (B.sc) from Department of Computer Science and Engineering
with Honors from
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. During my
bachelors, I worked in CSE BUET NLP LAB under
the supervision of Professor Rifat Shahriyar.
My current research is at the intersection of malware and software security and Generative AI,
with a strong focus on LLM.
I am intrigued by the challenge of combining classical software security and LLM and generative
AI. I am also exploring about LLM security and defense and also ability of code LM to reason
and work with systems and low level languages. Besides I am also engaged in static-analysis and vulnerability based research, particularly taint analysis. My research interests can be broadly categorized as:
- MALWARE AND ADVERSARIAL MACHINE LEARNING
- APPLICATION OF LLM, CODE LM AND GENERATIVE AI FOR SECURITY
- STATIC ANALYSIS AND VULNERABILITY BASED RESEARCH
- SECURITY OF LLMs, AGENTS AND RELATED AI SYSTEMS
- REASONING ABILITY OF CODE LM AND GENERAL APPLICATION TO SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Apart from academic activities, I like to keep my life as diverse as possible. I enjoy travelling and wish to travel to all iconic places in the world!. I enjoy a good book time to time, I game a lot and like to dive deep into things that I find fascinating, ranging from nordic mythology to the roots and connections of various tonal languages.
